This week at Superette we are taking a deep dive into Zoe & Morgan’s latest collection: Ahisma. The collection is influenced from a notion that comes from Hinduism to respect all living things and to move through life with peace and harmony.
Zoe & Morgan have always been interested in jewellery with meanings, talismans, protection symbols, and amulets from around the world.
Their father used to love telling them about the intricate meaning of symbols and how you can use different items, like crystals to enable your own self-healing.
Being a family who considers the world a cottage and freedom a friend, they wanted to deepen their exploration into the chakra symbols as a way to relate to the world and what they mean to them as individuals.
They believe that all jewellery has personal energy that is infused into it as soon as you put it on. It’s your own personal reminder to be true to yourself, however, that looks.
Zoe & Morgan’s aim is to create jewellery that someone can connect to and feel some strength and benefit from. The core of the Ahisma collection focuses on connection and the journey they have been through over the past two years. They cherish connection and communications in all forms.
“We revisit the chakras in this collection, these wheels of light represent the energy portholes of the body and when open and aligned support a foundation for ahisma.
Crafted as wearable pendants and everyday signets, our new chakra designs are pieces that you can carry with you, each with its own meaning and enlightening power.
Our chain styles throughout this collection symbolise our connections, the Prana are hand assembled with articulated open-link chains. This is a nod to effortless 1970s style, worn as a piece or layered, she moves with freedom and ease.
Taking a more natural and earthly element this collection embraces new linear textures and tones. We have used some of our favourite stones like Chrome Diopside – a beautiful bright green stone that captures an emerald like feel.
With everyday wear in mind, the pieces of this collection were designed to be worn together or layered with your other treasured Zoe & Morgan jewels and can be worn across seasons.
This collection also celebrates being close to home with Morgan shooting this in his new home in Aotearoa New Zealand. Styles by Darya Bing and modelled by Pamela Sidhu from Unique Model Management.”
