We caught up with our three Superette Buyers, Kim, Josie and Ryan, to chat through the latest trends that will dominate our wardrobes this season. A new year means new trends, fresh beginnings and stylish outfits. Discover our edit of the latest and greatest, and how we will be doing fashion in 2022.
Heart shaped jewellery for Valentine’s day is anything but cliche. This year we see contemporary spins on the classic motif, whether it’s eye-catching hoops or a unique ring. The new generation of heart-shaped jewellery is a must-have for any time of wearer and makes the perfect gift.
Trend: Transparent Coloured Lenses
It seems the majority of us will be seeing through coloured lens sunglasses this summer. The retro 70s inspired trend gained traction late 2020 and has completely taken over the summer of 21/22. You’ll see sheer tinted lenses in shades of orange, yellow, pink and even blue with contrasting black coloured or tort frames.
Trend: The Statement Sleeve
We have seen so many iterations of the statement sleeve throughout fashion history and it proves to be a crazy trend here to stay. We will be wearing ours this summer in a breezy fabric, and come winter, in a more structured form. Romantic, playful and liberating, it’s the style that suits all ages and stages, we will be pairing ours with layered jewels and a sneaker to create an effortless, Parisian look.
Trend: Cool Grandpa
Grandpa, but not as you know him! No musty, moth eaten sweaters here. These are entrend and fresh off the runway. Think cool plaids, cozy cable knits, matching oversize pinstripe suits and a designer loafer. We are here for it! Team with Nike Dunks in polarising colours, or a neutral heel to elevate for the evening.
The great outdoors is where it’s at! Looking out our window while in lockdowns all over the world we dreamt of nature and exploring all that was beyond the 4 walls of our homes. As soon as we get a chance we head off to explore the wilderness, gone are the days of having to wear ugly gear that you can’t step foot in society wearing, we now have gear to explore in that is just as at home in the city scape and about town as up the highest peaks.
Preppy but with some swagger, tailored pants, varsity jackets with block style prints paired with loafers or desert boots. Think Harvard in the USA & Oxford in the UK. You have spent the morning rowing now you are off to the library then for a casual beer with some chums.
