We caught up with our Superette Menswear Buyer, Ryan Foster to chat fashion trends for the new Spring/Summer season, wardrobe staples every man should own, how he describes his personal style and what his top picks are from Superette this season.
What are the key trends for Spring/Summer 21?
For this summer I would say key trends, would be Linen head to toe, Utility, and Athletic Off Duty.
“Let’s hear it for linen. The most sustainable fabric is having its moment in the sun this season. This fabric works well for minimalism and scandi-style capsule wardrobes of muted tones, but we’re also seeing pops of linen colour this season. It’s a versatile and classic trend that is here to stay.“
“Utility just isn’t slowing down. This summer the khakis and Greens are coming in stronger than ever with military and workwear vibes, lots of pockets with washed back vintage and earthy tones are the go to for this favourite. We are seeing this in all the fashion hot spots around the world.“
Trend: Athletic Off Duty
“Think off-duty basketball player or LA sports fan chilling day-to-day. Comfort and style go hand in hand with this trend – comfortable sports shorts, vintage-vibe tee’s paired with mid length socks, sneakers/trainers and a baseball cap. This look can take you to the beach, to your local dairy or even to the bar on a hot summers day. You’ll not only look cool, but you’ll be comfortable too.“
What are the key wardrobe essentials all men should invest in?
Key pieces in general are always a good pair of shoes, denim and a jacket that will last through whatever season. You can easily build staples around that.
