After a crazy few weeks at Superette HQ our much anticipated ‘No Vacancy’ fashion show finally arrived – and it was well worth the wait! With over 600 guests, 24 models and 25 featured brands, No Vacancy was an epic success, and we’ve got all the details on what went down on the night if you weren’t able to join us (or if you’ve been MIA from Instagram this past week).
Inspired by road trips in Palm Springs and city escapes to NYC, NO VACANCY is a showcase of luxe travel inspired looks from our new season collections and our exclusive collaborations with Ksubi, P.E. Nation, Dylan Kain, Ragdoll LA, Amber Sceats, Bec and Bridge and Status Anxiety. The weeks leading up to the show were filled with multiple model castings, fittings, and styling sessions to ensure every last detail was perfect.
We had 165 amazing goodie bags to pack for our lucky guests before the night began. Our designer, Bella, created a gorgeous Superette canvas tote for us to pack all of the incredible goodies into. Our bags were full thanks to the generosity of ELEVEN Australia, M.A.C Cosmetics, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Rosefield, New Era, Memo Bottle, the list goes on!
It was a 5.30pm call time for the models and we were lucky enough to have M.A.C Cosmetic’s Senior Artist, the amazing Kiekie Stanners directing the make-up. The look was ‘Palm Springs Day-Glo’ – inspired by summer and neon pallets. Creating ultimate hair goals was four-time Australian Hairdresser of the Year and ELEVEN Australia creative director Joey Scandizzo. Joey’s looks were inspired by international spring/summer runway trends and were the final touch to successfully channelling our Palm Springs vibe.
Backstage scenes were hectic with 54 looks, multiple outfit changes, makeup artists and our photographer trying to capture each look before it hit the runway, but we managed to pull it off. Distressed denim, metallics, colour pop and a multitude of texture, our Palm spring babes and surfer dudes rocked the runway with ease. New season Superette, new arrivals and our exclusive collaborations featured throughout the 30-minute show, with an epic soundtrack to back them up.
After the show ended, the fun wasn’t over just yet. We had an extra treat for our guests – ‘Shop The Runway’ – a pop-up Superette store where our guests could browse and buy all the looks they had just watched on the runway prior to their official launch. With limited time and lots of eager customers, our Sales Rockstars kept their cool and teamed together to make ‘Shop The Runway’ the perfecting ending to an amazing night.
And before we knew it, the night had come to an end – well, not before a few celebratory glasses of champagne of course! The night was an epic success thanks to everyone involved and we couldn’t have done it without the help of the incredible New Zealand Fashion Week team.
