Mums Behind the Brand – Zoe & Morgan

For Mothers Day we’re celebrating all the incredible Mums behind the brand. We took a few minutes to chat with Zoe Williams, the creative force behind Zoe & Morgan.

What do you love most about being a mum?

Before becoming a mum I had already been in a relationship for ten years with Teia, my now husband. We had a lot of fun, dancing our way through nightclubs around the world, and our relationship evolved with no real effort. Once we became parents, we started looking at the lifestyle choices we made and the way we operated as humans. Naturally, we want our children to be kind, and curious about life. Now we are so dynamic with our approach, always making changes to the way we do things, to make sure we are living in a way that is true to our core values, and with this comes happiness. I feel like a better human as a result of being a mama, and I’m grateful for my children to make me question the way we do things, and always gently progress.

How do you find a balance between work and home life?

I’m very lucky to own my own business, so I’ve always been able to be the mum I want to be, picking up the kids from school and cooking healthy meals. Having the home box ticked means I’m motivated to work hard and quickly with my time at work. The business has grown a huge deal in the last two years, and at the same time, my children have grown, allowing a little more freedom in my days.

What advice would you give to mums out there struggling with the work/life balance?

Make your life/work balance a priority. Define what is important to you as a mum. Fit work into that, if you are happy and home (and not always happy as that’s unrealistic) then you naturally feel more energised to work. I like to look at life as a whole picture. It’s important to have little moments of freedom, even if that’s a 5-minute bike ride through the park or a walk on the beach in bare feet, an early night here and there, and time to have fun with friends.

Whats the best piece of advice you’ve received from your mum?

Eat nutritious food, and make your home space aesthetically pleasing for a calm vibe. I’m sure she’d like me to say something about cleaning! But I didn’t inherit my mum’s enthusiasm for cleaning!

Being a mum is hard work, whats your ideal ‘treat yourself’ moment?

A yoga class, a massage, or even a long bath and a good book.

What are your plans for Mothers Day this year?

Our family are Vegan this month, so I think my son is convincing Teia to go to a new Vegan joint in Herne Bay The Butcher’s Son. But I’m not sure, it’s a surprise! We are not huge Mothers day celebrators. Although never need an excuse for a fun family outing.
