With the recent arrival of our second delivery from Shona Joy’s gorgeous Spring/Summer collection, we couldn’t help but share the designer’s moodboard, showcasing the inspiration behind her ‘Sound of Light’ collection.
Dedicated to modern day bohemians, ‘Sound of Light’ draws inspiration from photographs of Slim Aaron’s ‘La Dolce Vita’, serving up nostalgic images of jetsetters in the 60s and 70s and their hedonistic lifestyles in different exotic locations.
The collection’s prints range from graphic interpretations of the months of Spring, from lightning and rain paving the way for the emergence of the first Spring flowers, through to flowers showcased in full bloom.
The floral and geometric prints resemble vintage art deco wallpapers, made modern with a super fresh colour palette: pops of acid neon and lime against quiet neutrals and pastels. Timeless, sexy and cool silhouettes looked to the 1970’s bourgeois set as muse, evident in the seventies inspired dresses, kaftans and wide leg pant suits with details of graphic sheer panelling and cut-outs taking the collection from lounging poolside through to the night.
